I did move a round a little extra around Cannon and the Lonesome Lake Hut. Then bagged north and south kinsman. South Kinsman is just under a mile past this summit. Soon you will reach North Kinsman. North and South Kinsman with Cannon Mountain Lonesome Lake provides a great example of a scoured out area that resulted in a glacial lake. Fairly crowded right now, but not too bad. Although steep, footing is good with a few wooden steps built into sloped rocks. South Kinsman summit! This was 4000 footers #12, 13 & 14 for me and it was definitely one of the hardest hikes I’ve done. Lincoln/Lafayette, and a 360 view on South kinsman. I would definitely do this one again. Now that they’re off my list I probably wouldn’t re visit the kinsmans atleast until i check the rest off, however I would do hi cannon trail to summit again and also would go to Lonesome lake again as well. The section of Kinsman Ridge trail that climbs up North East Cannon Ball would prove to be the hardest part of the day. Great day for a hike! This trail is longer than 11.2 miles! The trail climbs up Cannon very steeply for the first mile to mile and a half. Hi-Cannon trail is no joke and is straight up full of switchbacks.
